When asked about crime in an area, a REALTOR should avoid giving personal opinions or interpretations. Instead, they should direct clients to publicly available resources like local police department websites or crime statistics websites. This ensures clients receive accurate and objective information without the REALTOR potentially violating Fair Housing laws or making discriminatory statements.
Encourage independent research: Suggest that clients visit the neighborhood at different times of day, talk to residents, or conduct their own research using online tools.
